The sharply expanding markets for greenhouse gas and renewable energy credits opens virtually unlimited investment opportunities in the cerrados. Tens of millions of hectares of inexpensive cerrado land can be planted to eucalyptus and other species at low cost. Easily accessed areas of Western Bahia hold the promise for planting millions of hectares of trees. While as yet, AgBrazil professes no special expertise regarding the new carbon credits markets emerging on the New York Mercantile Exchange, we have significant insight into land investment for forestry activities in the cerrados.
